EPISODE 201

Guest, Barb Thom shows Linda how to make fabric and leather boot covers and a Chenille scarf. Together they make Sherpa and fleece hats, scarfs, mitts and slippers. Guest, Duane English demos how to make an English horse saddle. Linda is joined by guest, Ron Collins, to make a
place mat vest and appliqued shawl on bridal netting.

Guest, Joan Statz shows quick tips for making appliqued floral pictures. Guest, Cathy Brady demonstrates rolled edges on the serger. Joan and Linda make a jacket with chenille sleeves and chenille embellished body.

Host, Linda MacPhee and guest, Nicole Ogilvie make a baby parka and booties. Guest, Carol from Carol’s Zoo demonstrates two pattern piece stuffed animals. Guest, Cathy Brady demonstrates quilting with a serger.

Guest, Linda Fruend shows host, Linda MacPhee, embroidery and specialty machine stitches for decorative quilting. With guest Cathy Brady, Linda makes a Classy, Sassy Vest (reversible fabrics) & demonstrates printing,machine embroidery and foiling on sherpa. Guest, Carol from Carol’s Zoo shows her animal scarves, scarves and bags plus machine embroidery on faux fur.

Host, Linda MacPhee and guest, Ava Garbutt make a lined and serged, duffle parka. They also discuss the shell, vest and collars. They also discuss a sheer overcoat made from the same pattern. Guest, Ron Collins discusses uses for a variety of interfacings. Linda interviews guest, Barb Adamson about going from the field of law to the world of sewing.

Guest, Leslie Samson discusses raising angora rabbits for fibre. She shows host, Linda MacPhee how to create yardage, felt hats and gloves. Together they discuss the design process and sources of inspiration proceeding to the finished design two appliqued jackets.

Host, Linda MacPhee and guest, Joan Gibson explore the cross over between fashion and home dec. fabrics. They show a jacket, pillow with mitered braid, throw with self mitered border, and table runner. Guest, Linda MacGehee shows vests with extensive machine decorative thread work. Guest, Jan from The Sewing Basket demonstrates appliqued holiday wall hangings. Linda and guest, Nicole Ogilvie dress up an existing dress for holiday wear with a quick pinafore. They also demonstrate quick Christmas decor including pillows and table runners. Guest, Jonny Seww sings a sewing song.

Host, Linda MacPhee interviews guest, Laurie Switzer of Olds College about why Home Ec. is dying out but her program is going. Together they make a jean jacket vest from one of two purchased skirts to create a matching outfit. Guest, Ron Collins makes a pair of jeans.
